MUSIC FORWARD BY TECLA MUSIC ARRIVES 3RD EDITION IN 2024
The Music Forward conference promises, for the third time in a row, to be the focal point of debates about the future of the music industry within Rio Innovation Week (RIW) 2024. The event takes place in Rio de Janeiro, between August 13th and 16th, and is strategically curated by our team of music experts.
The meeting of big names in music is part of the program for the largest global technology and innovation conference. The Music Forward stage welcomes artists, labels, distributors and global music influencers to explore new ideas and emerging trends in our market.
Far beyond a local conference, Music Forward by Tecla Music establishes itself as a platform for discussing the future, technologies and music business. As in previous years, it adopts the plenary format, providing a collaborative environment, where participants share insights and visions about music in different formats: individual panels, keynotes, debate tables, workshops and performances.
Behind Music Forward's content curation are Paulo Sattamini, CEO and Creative Director of Tecla Music Agency, and Chico Dub, Director and Curator of the Novas Frequências Festival, which has been promoting unprecedented art/music exhibitions throughout Brazil for 14 years. Both are known for their dedication to transforming the musical landscape through creative and inclusive approaches.
Among the speakers confirmed for the 3rd edition are renowned figures such as Nelson Motta, Pedro Bial, Roberta Medina, from Better World, Papatinho, Kamilla Fialho, from K2L and Pedro Tourinho. Each brings a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities shaping contemporary music. Executives from companies such as Billboard, Sony, Warner Music, TikTok, Spotify and Globo will also be present – covering everything from technological innovations to social and cultural issues that impact us.
“We are excited to present such a diverse and inspiring program in this edition”, says Paulo Sattamini. “Music Forward not only celebrates creativity and innovation, but also serves as a vital space to build bridges between the various facets of the music industry”, adds the CEO.
This year, in addition to the presence of the large market, Chico Dub's curatorship promises to bring to the stage important movements that are outside the mainstream from the Brazilian music scene, such as Favela Sounds, which presents the launch of its documentary with important figures in black music in several states in Brazil; ALMA, the first music conference in the Amazon; and Heavy Future, a behavior laboratory specializing in Rock and Metal, in Porto Alegre.
“My role at Music Forward is to shine a spotlight on projects, movements and demonstrations that need to be known to more audiences due to their radical brilliance and innovation”, reflects Chico Dub. “We are living in a very cruel post-pandemic. If, on the one hand, there is more investment than ever in culture and entertainment, on the other, all these resources are being allocated to mega events. We need to change this somehow so that there is renewal in art. After all, innovation appears on the margins, peripheries and experimental proposals”, adds the Director.
Music Forward takes place at Rio Innovation Week 2024, held from August 13th to 16th at Pier Mauá, Rio de Janeiro. For more information about the conference, visit the official Rio Innovation Week website: Click here!
