How Latin Music Has Been Dominating Streaming Year After Year

In 2024, Latin rhythm music became the genre with fastest growth in streaming from the US, with an increase of 15% compared to 2023. 

This trend continued with artists reaching new heights of popularity – and Spanish becoming the 2nd most heard language in music in the world.


At the top of the charts

Names like Bad Bunny, Karol G, Featherweight and Anitta lead the global scene. Bad Bunny was the artist most listened to Latin node Spotify Wrapped 2024, ranking third globally behind Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

Karol G stood out as the most listened to Latin female artist by fifth year consecutive, while Featherweight and Feid also featured in the Top 10.


A new POP

worldpop was the genre most listened to by Gen Z in recent years, proving that pop has evolved to incorporate new global sounds.

Genres such as reggaeton, Mexican music and funk reach the mainstream, propelling new artists to the top. An example of this is Ludmilla, who saw a 112% increase in streams in 2024 and became the first black Latin American artist to achieve 1 billion streams on Spotify.


Latin seasoning

The growth of the Latin genre is driven by its energy, emotion and authenticity. A new generation mixes salsa, tropical music, funk and reggaeton, uniting tradition and modernity to expand the reach of the genre different audiences.


They have been making money

The genre's impact goes beyond digital. In 2024, tours by Latin artists accounted for 15% of the global concert market. Luis Miguel won the title of highest-grossing Latin tour in history, while Karol G recorded the highest-grossing female Latin tour, with two stops in Brazil.
